I'm going to go over what I built this blog with and it's web hosting.

Talking about it

Last year I learned about a flat file site generator called cecil.app.

I have taken a liking to it as it using twig templating and works in a similiar fashion as Pico CMS, a flat file CMS I used to use.

Editing the twig templates is pretty straight forward and all the content is flat file in Markdown files. I love Markdown as content type for the web because it's easier than everyone having to learn how to use HTML.

For design I'm using Sass to compile Bootstrap with my own changes added in.

c0debabe.com and alicerhodes.com are both hosted with Netlify as they have very generous free tier hosting. It's easy to set up if you have your code hosted on Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps. I'm using gitlab.com.
